Bulletin Boards - 5th Grade

These are pictures from the 2012-2013 school year of a couple 5th Grade bulletin boards.

We made a mono-print using scratch paper we made ourselves in this self portrait project!

We looked at Mehndi from India & other Southeast Asian counties before making our own version on paper. We hid pictures of items that mean something to us in our Mehndi patterns!

Bulletin Board - 4th Grade

This is a picture from the 2012-2013 school year of a 4th Grade bulletin board.

 We drew our self portrait in the style of Manga from Japan!

Bulletin Boards - 3rd Grade

These are pictures from the 2012-2013 school year of a couple 3rd Grade bulletin boards.

We practiced drawing figures that are in motion & used these drawings to create figures to include in our Henri Matisse collages!

We used clay to make pendants based on Hei Mataus from New Zealand!

We focused on castles in a printmaking project. We learned the architectural terms for parts of a castle & the names of the tools used in printmaking!

Bulletin Boards - 2nd Grade

These are pictures from the 2012-2013 school year of a couple 2nd Grade bulletin boards.

We used our names as the base of this project & hid them by adding patterns in the spaces that our letters created!

We drew two self portraits showing two different emotions focusing on how our facial features change. We then talked about Pablo Picasso and used Cubism to influence our final layout by cutting our self portraits up and reassembling them!

Bulletin Board - 1st Grade

This is a picture from the 2012-2013 school year of a 1st Grade bulletin board.

We drew our self portrait and used texture plates to do crayon rubbings to color them in. We made sure our self portrait had 2 eyes with eyebrows, a nose, a mouth with 2 lips, 2 ears along with all the details that make us... us!

I was lucky to be able to fit ALL of the 1st Grader self portraits in this display!

Bulletin Boards - Kindergarten

These are some pictures from the 2012-2013 school year of a couple Kindergarten bulletin boards.

We practiced using rulers and used only Primary colors in a Mondrian inspired project!

We practiced color mixing with tempera paint in our Primary & Secondary Colored Fish project!

We learned about the artist Louise Nevelson in a Found Art Assemblage project!
